look, you can’t make marines happy, and that’s why the anderson chow hall is so poorly rated. however, it has been the highlight of my rimpac 2024 mcbh experience. the food might not be something to write home about, but every time i eat here i get plenty of food spanning all of my micro and macronutrients. clearly a lot of people work very hard to produce a lot of food replete with variety, condiments, desserts, and even dunkin donuts coffee. for the swipe of a cac card, the anderson chow hall is hard to beat.
Completely underrated. Workers are a delight and the Marines are motivating. The food keeps me at my best when I'm doing some motivating PT. Every night before I sleep I thank the Lord that I have the chow hall. Pasta day is my favorite day but Kalua pork is always delicious, so is the yakisoba and cabbage

Every morning, I look at myself in the mirror, and I wish my mother had the courage to throw me in the river when I was born. Then I make my way to Anderson Chow Hall, the only place on God's green Earth a monster like me feels at home. Sometimes, NCOs gather to scream at me. "Where's your belt?!, No seconds to-go!", they yell. Then someone screams, "Kill yourself!" and it takes a few seconds to realize the voice is coming from my own mouth! By then, I've made my way to the old hanging tree. Before I have time to think about it, I'm wrapping a vine around my own neck. It gets tight, and I pray to the gods that this time, the vine will hold! But alas, everyday, I wake up in my own filth and I lie there and I cry. I cry because I'll live to see that chow hall again! The salads aren't bad though, but the mac salad has no flavor.
I was stationed here from 1982 - 1985. Then, the food was actually pretty good. I didn't know of anyone who really complained about it. In fact, everyone was eager for meals. Was it gourmet style food? Definitely not, but it tasted decent, and the portions were pretty good. I see now, based on other reviews the portion size has dropped as well as the quality perhaps. Back then, it was very important that the mess hall serve GOOD food. In fact, it was not uncommon for the base commander and/or other officers to make an appearance, and walk around during meal times talking to Marines about their thoughts on the quality of food. That was a different time though.

Highly under rated. Compared to other chowhalls on Oahu it has better efficiency and reliability. You can eat until your stomach explodes and not feel awkward and the workers are focused on their job. No meal card needed for enlisted, just beep the ID card and head down the wide open salad bar. Happy Thanks Giving.
